USA Football has officially announced its 2026 Men’s and Women’s National Team rosters, introducing a new evaluation format designed to raise the level of play and create deeper competition across the program.

In a shift from previous years, USA Football is expanding its player pool by adding 12 new athletes to the existing 12-player roster on both the men’s and women’s sides. The final 12-player rosters will go on to compete in Germany August 27–30, 2026, where the world’s top flag football talent will take the field. With countries around the globe rapidly investing in flag football, international competition has never been stronger. This new selection format ensures that Team USA will bring its most prepared, battle-tested roster to the world stage.
Currently, both the men’s and women’s teams representing USA Football remain at or near the top of the global standings in IFAF competition, continuing a dominant run on the international stage. The U.S. men’s team holds the No. 1 spot in the IFAF world rankings and has backed it up with results, including multiple world championships and a gold medal at the 2024 IFAF Flag Football World Championships, where they finished undefeated. On the women’s side, Team USA has also been a consistent powerhouse, entering recent world championships as a top-ranked team and capturing gold in 2024 with an undefeated run. However, the global gap is tightening, as countries like Mexico have surged in the rankings and even claimed the No. 1 spot in recent women’s world rankings, signaling increased international competition heading into 2026.
