Gearing Up to Elevate Coaching Worldwide

The Flag Football Coaches Association (FFCA) is preparing to launch a premier community and network dedicated to elevating flag football coaching excellence through education, collaboration, and hands-on learning. With a focus on scheme development, technique mastery, and best coaching practices, the organization aims to build robust content libraries and facilitate in-person clinics across continents.

The FFCA’s mission is simple: unite flag football coaches from around the world, provide access to world-class coach education, and create a space where coaches can learn from each other. As the sport grows, from youth leagues to elite programs, the association seeks to nurture networks that will improve coaching quality while honoring the diverse approaches that make flag football a vibrant global sport.

Co-founders bring a potent mix of experience and leadership. NFL Flag Global Ambassador and member of Great Britain’s National Women’s Flag Football Team, Phoebe Schecter, is joined by USA Football Master Trainer and Head Women’s Flag Football Coach at SUNY Geneseo, Rob Currin, along with the CEO of Coach & Coordinator, Keith Grabowski.

“Our backgrounds are varied in competition, coaching, and education, but our roads collectively intersect at flag football, and we see a real need for a network of coaches that will help elevate the standard,” said Currin.

The FFCA aims to start by connecting coaches and building a library of resources. In-person clinics are a goal for the organization, which seeks to provide resources across all formats of flag football.

Schecter’s work as a Global NFL Flag Ambassador is a significant asset to the organization. In the United States, most high schools and colleges play 7v7, while Europe uses IFAF’s 5v5 rules. “Flag Football has brought so many opportunities to young people around the world in recent years. We’re excited to build a community of coaches so the game can continue to grow in a meaningful way,” added Schecter.

A central element of the FFCA is its commitment to content libraries. The association plans to curate an ever-expanding collection of coaching materials that cover offensive and defensive schemes, playbooks, drill progressions, and technique breakdowns. By sharing best practices and proven methods, the FFCA aims to reduce friction for coaches who are building programs from the ground up or seeking to elevate established teams.

Keith Grabowski has spent years curating the Coach and Coordinator platform, which provides a natural fit for the FFCA. “I’m excited to launch the Flag Football Coaches Association with Rob and Phoebe via the Coach and Coordinator Network, a hub for coaches to connect, share schemes, exchange best practices, and grow together,” Grabowski said.
