Ottawa has won it's 5th consecutive National title defeating Keiser University 34-20 Thursday night in Kansas City.

The Braves and the Seahawks entered the title game as the two most dominant teams of the 2025 season. Ottawa, led by standout quarterback Madysen Carrera, set the tone early with a touchdown drive on their opening possession. Keiser responded with a strong second quarter, tightening the score and keeping Ottawa's offense in check with disciplined flag pulls and coverage.

In the second half, the Braves leaned on their experience and depth. A key fourth-quarter interception by safety Maya James stalled a Keiser comeback attempt, sealing the game and championship for Ottawa. "This team has worked for this moment since August," said Ottawa head coach Liz Sowers, one of the pioneers of women's flag football. "We stayed focused, executed our plan, and played for each other."

The championship concludes the fifth season of NAIA women's flag football, a sport officially recognized as emerging by the NAIA in 2020. Since then, over 20 schools have added varsity programs, with Ottawa and Keiser consistently at the top of the national rankings.
