As flag football prepares to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, Trinidad and Tobago is laying the groundwork to join the global stage. Led by chairman Kijana Thomas and PRO Willon Ivan Nurse, the Trinidad and Tobago American Flag Football Association (TTAFF) is actively promoting the sport through school demonstrations, community sessions, and national outreach.

In recent weeks, TTAFF has hosted sessions at schools like Maria Regina Grade School and Presentation College Chaguanas, and even partnered with the national men's rugby team for a demonstration. Upcoming appearances include Olympic Day on June 23 at Queen's Park Savannah.

Backed by recognition from the Ministry of Sport and the TT Olympic Committee, TTAFF aims to build a national program rooted in Olympic aspirations, school development, and competitive excellence. Over 30 players currently train at the Eddie Hart Recreation Ground, with plans to expand into more schools and youth programs.

"Our goal is to create a pathway for TT athletes to reach the Olympic level," said Thomas. "Flag football teaches teamwork, discipline, and leadership-and we're committed to making it accessible to all."
