It has been reported by several sources that the 2028 flag football games will be played at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. This seems to be a perfect fit for the fastest growing sport in the US, if not the world. BMO Stadium holds approximately 22,000 people. It will host the men's and the women's flag football competitions.
It might have been a stretch not long ago to imagine a capacity of 22,000 fans packing a stadium to watch flag football, but things are changing fast. With high school state associations seemingly adding new states every month that have sanctioned the girls' flag football, this may be where some of the female flag football stars of 2028 come from.
Even the NFL is getting in on the act as the NFL owners are soliciting the help of arguably the two biggest female sports stars in Catlin Clark and Serena Williams at the league's spring meetings in Florida next month.
There has also been a lot of chatter about NFL players participating. Our guess is that the flag football games that are played at the Olympics in 2028 will look drastically different than what the NFL Pro Bowl games have provided over the past several years, so the jury is definitely out on that for several reasons.
The good news is that the game of flag football is being played in so many ways by so many different people that the competition to make any Olympic team in 2028 is sure to be fierce. Mens, womens and co-ed leagues and tournaments are played across the US on just about every weekend. There will be some talented players rising to the top this way as well. This will only make the game better to play and better to watch.
So our advice would be to grab one of those 22,000 seats in BMO stadium as soon as they become available because if you don't, you might have to wait until Brisbane in 2032 until you get to see it live at the Olympic games!
